FILTER SECTION OF THE JUPITER-8 (below)
FILTER SECTION OF THE JUPITER-6 (below)
The main difference between the Jupiters when it comes to the VCF (Voltage Controlled Filter) is that the Jupiter-6 has a nifty multi-mode filter and the Jupiter-8 offers a choice of 12db or 24db/octave filter slope. Since the Jupiter-6 filter is a multi mode filter it can act as a HPF (High Pass Filter - top mode button), LPF (Low Pass Filter - bottom mode button) or BPF (Band Pass Filter - press both mode buttons at once). The Jupiter-8 has an additional filter cutoff slider for it's High Pass Filter allowing it to act as a "quasi-multi mode" filter to a certain degree.
